Crabpot was originally established in the 1990s and was initially set up and owned by the local trade and tourism association at the time (formerly known as Rame Association of Traders or "RATS"). Crabpot was established to promote the holiday based businesses operating within the Rame Peninsula. Crabpot was then taken over by one of the founder Association members, who had a keen interest in its development, and for a number of years remained in his family's private ownership until it was sold in 2022.
In 2024, Crabpot was purchased by the same, but thankfully renamed, local trade and tourism association - the Rame Tourism and Business Association (RTBA). RTBA uses the marketing brands Visit Rame and Crabpot.
Crabpot it is now wholly owned and run by the Rame Tourism and Business Association (the previous RATS name is historical for obvious reasons!).
