Description

Curlew was originally built together with Moorings as one house for an Admiral in1783 when there were no other houses in Garrett Street in its superb location overhanging the beach. He had obviously fallen in love with the place as the title deeds stipulated that he be rowed in a longboat to his work at Plymouth Dockyard, a risky journey in those days. The house is just off the central square and you can rent on its own or with Moorings next door allowing a party up to 19 people, Curlew Cottage is the ideal self-catering option for up to 8 + 2 people in a style to suit today's sea-lovers! There are 4 bedrooms on 3 levels plus one living room with sofabed, an open-plan kitchen/dining room, bathrooms with WCs (one en-suite), one separate wet-room shower and an extra cloakroom WC on the ground floor. There is a sea view on every floor, most dramatically from the romantic loft bedroom. The 3 oven Aga range cooker makes cooking really easy, but for times when you don't want to cook, there are are two great cafe choices as well as child-friendly pubs moments away. The water is heated by solar panels (with conventional energy back-up) and the central heating draws on solar power as well.

Although there is no parking space at the cottage, you can unload at the front door and the car-park is only about 100 metres away. It's also a great choice for a car-free holiday, with the Cawsand Ferry taking you from Plymouth Barbican pretty much to the door!
