1 The Old Signal House is one of three former Trinity House Lighthouse cottages situated just above the rocks at Penlee Point with panoramic views across Plymouth Sound and out into the English Channel. Originally built to house the families of the Eddystone Lighthouse keepers it has now been refurbished to the highest standard with three ensuite bedrooms comprising one Super King which can be split into two singles, a King sized and two adult bunks. There is a comfortable lounge with views in every direction, a well equipped kitchen and a separate dining room. Outside there is a large terrace and substantial lawn that provides direct access to the rocks and sea swimming for the intrepid. There is a sheltered, sandy beach very close to the house. 

The house is reached down 82 steps from the coastal path and so is regrettably not suitable for those with limited mobility (or who are out of condition!) but this is the price to pay for the sensational situation of the house which really takes your breath away! It is the perfect spot to lazily view all the yachts, boats and ships which pass close by the house and seals and porpoises are regularly spotted. 

The pubs and facilities of Cawsand are in walking distance and in the other direction the coastal path takes you to Rame Head which is about a mile distant. The Cornwall Wildlife Trust reserve of Penlee Battery is on the hill above the house comprising woodland and coastal grassland.
